The Division met on October 14-15, 2023, for a Drill at the Great Lakes Naval Base.
We had a fantastic drill last weekend, and cadets learned a lot about Honor Guard skills with the help of our guest instructors, LCDR Clark and LCDR Olsen, from Big Sandy, TX.
Cadets started the drill on Saturday with another attempt on the PRT, after which we handed them over into the loving hands of our guest instructors. After two days of the Honor Guard Clinic, cadets demonstrated their skills in front of the Sea Cadet Families.
CONGRATULATIONS, INDOC GRADS!
Several of our recruits graduated from the Indoc and will be assigned to different companies starting in November. Please review the Uniform Care Guide to learn about uniform care and tape placement. These cadets are also now eligible to sign up for the STEM Team and the Marksmanship team, which both meet outside of drill dates. The name tapes will be issued in November, but others can now be attached to the uniforms.
WINTER TRAINING
The winter training has started posting into the Parent Portal. To apply, you must make sure all your digital paperwork is completed. After that, you can apply through the parent portal.
Registration is open for training in FL and TX. IL registration will open on November 4, and if you plan to attend that training, please ensure your Parent Portal is in order. Things might move fast, especially for the NLO, POLA, and possibly Honor Guard, and there are not many spots—your spot is not guaranteed until it is approved (all paperwork is received and payment is made). Please let me know if you need help with the parent portal.
Other winter training will occur in NY, RI, LA, SC, and possibly others.
