About the Navy Sea Cadet Corps Program

Our program has a long-standing history that started over fifty years ago. From the very first unit founded in 1959 to over 300 units today, NSCC never stopped looking for ways to improve.

In 1975 The NSCC Scholarship program was established to assist qualified cadets with getting a higher education.

In 2005 The NSCC started receiving federal grants to help to fund its programs. Today federal funding provides the majority of the program income.

Today's count is over 380 units and approximately 9,000 young men and women.

During the Coronavirus pandemic quarantine, the NSCC has offered a variety of virtual programs including virtual drills, virtual advancement training options for cadets and adult volunteers as well as virtual advancement tests.
